Mountain Biking at Camp Croft

Last week I went out and rode the trails down at Camp Croft in the southern part of Spartanburg county. To my surprise, the trail crews had already been out and cleaned up many of the fallen trees. The trails were in much better condition than they were a few weeks ago when mud and ice still prevailed in a few sections.

Learned a few things this week.

  1. The upcoming race at Camp Croft, The Stump Jump, on April 17 is a qualifying race for the USAC XC Mountain Bike National Championships.
  2. My big feet on my big pedals like to find any raised stump on the trail, knocking bike sideways.
  3. Going around an 80 degree corner at a high speed with wet leaves results in a crash
  4. Spartanburg’s Duncan Park is getting 6 miles of new trails.

Anyways, here are the stats from the ride.

Atlanta Braves Caravan

For those of you who know me, if I’m not playing or working on my Apple computers, I’m playing sports (or arguing politics).

I have been a lifelong Braves fan and enjoy talking to the players and watching them play.  I love the game and savor any moment I get around the game.  So I drove down to Augusta today to take my son to meet one of the newest Braves, Freddie Freeman.

We got our autographs and even managed to get on the local news.  Check it out below.  My son and I appear at the 45 second mark.

Needless to say, I’m stoked about this season!
